How to choose an accounting firm in Sweden
Most people find a good accountant through people they know. But even a recommended firm is worth checking. Send the same request to two or three firms, enter their answers in the table and compare them on the same questions.
How it works
- Tell us about your company. It takes a couple of minutes.
- Copy the ready letter and send it to two or three accounting firms. You can get the letter in Swedish, English, Ukrainian or Russian.
- When the firms reply, enter their answers in the table. It is saved in this browser, so you can come back a few days later.
Nothing is sent anywhere. Everything you enter stays only in this browser.
Why not by price
Price is not the main thing here. The website Driva Eget sent a request from an invented company through an online service, and ten accounting firms sent offers from SEK 11,000 to 123,000 (a test from 2017). Such numbers cannot be compared, because each firm priced its own amount of work. You can compare prices only when all the firms have answered the same request.

Your answers go into the letter. You can leave any field empty, and then that sentence is left out of the letter.

Send the same letter to all the firms. Then their answers can be compared.
Step 3. Compare the answers
Add up to four firms. The first four rows are must-haves: one "Not acceptable" and the firm is out, however good the rest is.

Where to look for firms
- Ask people you know who have a similar company. This is still the best way.
- Srf konsulterna: on their website you can search for consultants by city and specialty (Hitta konsult).
- Some websites take a request and pass it to several firms. You can use them, but they are middlemen, not an independent assessment. The letter from this page works for them too.
